What exactly are the 5 stages of filtration?

The Bluemyst Air Purifier has 5 filters, built as 2 composite filters, as follows:

Filter A: Pre-filter, HEPA filter, Antibacterial filter

Filter B: Active carbon filter, Cold catalyst filter

Here’s what each one does.

Pre-filter: Traps larger particles, preserving the HEPA filter from excessive wear and tear

HEPA Filter: An ultra-fine, randomly woven, mesh traps minuscule particles as small as 0.3 microns. To put that in perspective, the diameter of a strand of hair is 30 microns while a pollen particle is as small as 10 microns. The HEPA filter is excellent at trapping all physical matter, such as dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores and more.

Antibacterial Filter: A coated filter that prevents the buildup of bacteria inside the filter

Active Carbon Filter: Carbon has a unique atomic structure and when it is activated, it traps odors and contaminants inside its myriad nooks and crannies. It is great for trapping smoke and harmful chemicals.

Cold Catalyst Filter:  This filter causes a catalyst – or a chain reaction – within the atomic composition of harmful gasses and microscopic particles. This process oxidizes and deteriorates the chemical composition, rendering them harmless.
